A party called forró
Forró is the name given to dance music from the sertão, the north-eastern Brazilian desert, where the sun beats down, the ground is arid and the people are poor. But what they do have is their booming dance festivals that frequently last the entire night. The music originated in the Brazilian interior, and is a blend of cajun, zydeco and samba, with rapidly delivered, coarse lyrics, a wheezing accordion and unique, but still typically Brazilian percussion. Zabumba brings the forró celebration to the Netherlands. Smoochy, wild and sensual dances in a distinctive South American ambience!
