“Calango!” is an awarded short film produced in 2007 by students of OZI, a 3D animation school of Brasília. An unlucky lizard (calango in Portuguese) unable to capture an appetizing cricket reminds, vaguely, the “Ice Age” proto-squirrel, always trying to save his nut. Among its many merits, Calango! offers great depictions of beach life at Fortaleza, in the Northeast of the country, with its coconuts and dune buggies. Note also the amazing score: chorinhos “Brasileirinho”, by Geraldo Azevedo, and “Entardecendo”, by Macaúba.
